How to verify an Alibaba seller from their own website

Marketplace badges are not identity. Verify the seller’s domain, legal name, and facility claims before a first PO.
Gold Supplier status and years-on-platform metrics reduce some risk. They do not replace checking the operating company’s website and documents.
Open the seller’s own domain
Paste the corporate site (not only the Alibaba storefront) into a verification tool. Compare storefront brand, site brand, and footer legal name.
Treat Trade Assurance as payment rails
Assurance helps if you stay inside the product. It does not prove the factory address or that the catalog OEM is real.
Ask for a small trial first
After the dossier, order a sample or small PO with the same bank details you will use at scale.
